Celebrities are not immune from the most common infertility problems faced by many couples who are trying to conceive, and bring a child into this world. As such, Many famous couples have turned to surrogacy stemming from infertility related issues so that their dreams of having a child turn into reality.
So many people (famous or not) deal with infertility issues and in dealing with them, these couples have chosen the Surrogacy process as a way out of their inability to conceive a child of their own.
Surrogacy is defined as the method or agreement whereby a woman agrees to carry a pregnancy for another person or persons, who will become the newborn child’s parent(s) after birth. Intended parents may seek a surrogacy arrangement when pregnancy is medically impossible, pregnancy risks present an unacceptable danger to the mother’s health, or a man or male couple wish to have a child.
Although it is not an uncommon decision among famous Hollywood couples to turn to Surrogacy, not much has been written about the surrogacy or the surrogates they hire to assist them in bringing a baby child into their lives. These celebrities have kept a low profile to insure their privacy, but the list of notable celebrities who have used surrogates has been nevertheless growing steadily.
Kanye and Kim Kardashian West is the latest Hollywood couple who hired a surrogate to carry their third child. Their surrogate delivered the Couples Baby girl on Monday January 15, 2018.
In a written Statement on her website, Kim Kardashian recently stated “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for the special care,”
However, Kim Kardashian is not alone. Many other stars and notable couples have also used the same procedure.
Tyra Banks and Eric Asla who earlier last year welcomed their son, stated on her Instagram page:
“As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone,”
Sarah Jessica Parker with her husband Matthew Broderick also welcomed their second and third child, twin girls Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge, via surrogate in June 2008.
Even Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban second baby was brought into their life’s in December 2010. Kidman told CNN via an interview: “I suppose my maternal instincts and drive has always been there since I was little … and that’s a huge driving force of who I am, which is why I probably played it out in so many different ways. I am a mother because I love being a mother.”
Subsequent several attempts to start a family, which also included a miscarriage in 2015, the former Friday Night Lights actor and his wife, Kingdom actress Kiele Sanchez, finally welcomed daughter Zeppelin Adele via a surrogate mother in November 2017. In an interview for People Magazine the actress stated “It’s been a long, painful journey for us.” “Zeppelin is the light of our lives.”
Latin singer Ricky Martin always wanted to be a father, so he elected to become a single dad via a surrogate. His twins boys Matteo and Valentino were born in August 2008. Mr. Martin commented “I saw the picture and I said: Who is this woman so angelic, so transparent. I would give my life for the woman who helped me bring my sons into this world.”
As can be seen, the trend in Hollywood has been to turn to surrogacy to achieve a dream of being a family. Fortunately, the beautiful thing about surrogacy is that this process is not limited to the rich and famous. Any person who desires to become a parent or to start a family can achieve that dream.
